About Us

The Friends of Eastern State Penitentiary Park (FESPP) is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization charged with the private maintenance and improvement to the Eastern State Penitentiary Park.  The Park encompasses the two parcels of land adjacent to the historic Eastern State Penitentiary along Brown Street and Corinthian Avenue.

FESPP was established in 1996 by local residents with the help of the City of Philadelphia, community organizations, and neighborhood volunteers.

Our mission is to develop and maintain the Eastern State Penitentiary Park and to foster good neighborhood relations and strong community ties between the Fairmount, Francisville, and Spring Garden neighborhoods in Philadelphia.

FESPP relies entirely on individual donations and fundraisers (like the Breakout Race) to maintain the park and make improvements.

Please consider making a donation today.
